Ajahn Cattamalo was born in Germany. He travelled to Thailand in 1987 where he was ordained as a Buddhist monk in the Thai forest tradition at the age of 22. He received most of his training in Wat Pah Nana Chat and practiced in various monasteries of the Ajahn Chah lineage for 7 years. In 2008, after spending another brief period in Thailand, he went back to Germany to help establish “Muttodaya” the first forest monastery in his home country, where he resides since.

Venerable Jutipanno (Ven Hui Guang) from Dhamma Light Meditation Centre in Malaysia will be conducting a 1-day retreat on 19 Sep (Sat) in Wat Ananda.

Vesak Day is the day where we celebrate the birth, Enlightenment and passing into Parinibbana of Lord Buddha.
We have specially arranged 2 talks for everyone to recollect the Teachings of the Buddha on this day (1 June 2015, Mon) :
10.00am to 11.30am – Meditation by Dr Ng Wai Chong (instructions will be provided)
2.00pm to 3.00pm – The Buddha was born, lived and gained Enlightenment, passed away in Singapore by Bro Kweh Soon Han.

There will be candle procession on Vesak eve and Vesak day in Wat Ananda at 7.30pm.
