Ajahn Cattamalo Dec 2014Ajahn Cattamalo is back again this year and will conducting a weekend retreat in Dec.

 

 

Meditation Retreat – 13 and 14 Dec (Sat and Sun)

Time – 7.30am to 8pm

Costs – FOC.  Donations are welcomed to defray the costs of running the retreat.

Dana – If you wish to offer dana to Ajahn, please reach before 10.45am.

Venue – Wat Ananda Temple @ 50B Jalan Bukit Merah

Meditation and chanting every Sunday.  We may play recorded audio talks by Ajahns from the Thai Forest Tradition during the session.

Time : 9.30am to 11am

There will be a lunch dana to the Sangha after the service. If you wish to offer lunch dana, please reach between 10.45am to 11am.

Join us to celebrate Vesak day on 13 May !
On this day, let’s recollect the qualities of the Buddha and His Teachings and practise what he taught by engaging ourselves in wholesome activities.
Listening to Dhamma talks on this day is definitely one of the wholesome activities which one can engage in.  Do drop by to attend the talks that we have lined up for you :)

Bathing the Buddha ceremony is available throughout the day.  This act reminds one of the importance of purifying one’s mind.

Meditation Retreat – The following is the full program for the day:

Satipatthana Meditation – It is a method of meditation where we observe every moment, feelings that we are experiencing. The method leads us to maintain moment by moment the mindfulness of body,feeling, mind or mental phenomena. For the first half, bhante will be guiding the meditation.

Bhante was ordained as a Bhikkhu (Monk) in Wat Bovorn Bangkok in 1999, where he spent 1 Vassa. Bhante then went to International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University in Yangon, Myanmar and spent 3 Vassa in Myanmar to study and teach meditation. In 2003, Bhante returned to Indonesia and led Indonesian Tipitaka Centre in Medan. In 2006, Bhante was assigned to West Kalimantan to become the head abbot for the region. Currently, Bhante is active in giving talks and teaching mediation around Indonesia.
